My daughter, Amy, is on a werewolf kick and she’s been picking my brain for any titles I have in my collections. The problem is that I don’t have all that many and even if I did, our tastes aren’t always the same.

Case in point, she absolutely loves J.D. Robb’s In Death to the point of taking the books away from me because I didn’t respect them enough. And as far as I’m concerned she’s welcome to them.

Back to weres, though, Amy tends to like romances with magic and mystical elements as opposed to science fiction based ones. Any suggestions?

  1. Shiloh Walker has great ones in her “Hunter” series (along with witches and vamps) and Kate Douglas has “Wolf Tales” but be warned: these are both incendiary series – not for the faint of heart. If she doesn’t go for the ultra sizzling, then don’t suggest these ones. Oh, if she’s a teenager, definitely NOT- LOL.

Lucy Monroe will also be coming out with a werewolf series – can’t remember when – but that sounds like a great new one.

  2. I don’t know how old your daughter is, so I’m assuming she’s a teenager. So, I’d recommend ‘Blood and Chocolate’ by Annette Klaus Curtis, which features the heroine as a werewolf who’s trying to find a place to live between her two worlds.

  3. There are so many…and for some, it depends on your daughter’s age and preferences…

    Mainstream published authors:
Kim Harrison (paranormal, more vampires than werewolves)
    Sparkle Hayter (mystery series)
    Lori Handeland “Moon” series
Donna Boyd “The Passion” and “The Promise”
    CT Adams & Cathy Clamp
    CE Murphy
    Michelle Sagara
    Kelly Armstrong
    Jim Butcher
    Gena Showalter
Laurell K Hamilton’s “Merry Gentry” series

    Romantic erotica ebook authors:
    Lani Aames
Keri Arthur (newly in print also)
MaryJanice Davidson (Wyndham werewolves novellas and book)
    Kate Douglas (short stories)
    Sherri L King
    Elizabeth Lapthorne
JJ Massa (sweet, erotic stories – not big, bad alpha werewolves)
Judy Mays (some dominance/submission in these)
    Lorie O’Clare
    Shiloh Walker
    Christine Warren

Oh, it’s late and I can’t think of any more. Some are more “paranormal” than wolfies, some more mystery or urban fantasy than romance.

  4. Rebecca York has some I’ve really enjoyed. Susan Krinard has also written some good ones. Oddly enough, I don’t care for vampire romance in general but I like the werewolf. There’s someone els and I can’t remember who it is at the moment, but should I remember – I will be back.
