. . . my old blog archive to here. Now, I have to finish unpacking everything, i.e. categorizing old posts. That may take a week or so but I figure if I do a few a day, it’ll happen eventually. Plus, there’s reformating to be done on many of them but that also will get done as I have the time. Personally, I’m ready to get back to posting new entries about books on a regular basis. Not to mention catch up on some comment responses that I put off on the old blog. (See I haven’t forgotten, I’ve just been procrastinating over this move.)
I did manage to learn a little bit more about WordPress today, which enabled me to do a little renovating to the sidebar. OTOH, I also ran into one glitch that I’m hoping someone can help explain, however. I’m not sure if the problem is with Bloglines or something I did during the move here, but only a feed for “Comments for Bev’s Books” is showing in my Bloglines subscriptions. What’s up with that?
I wasn’t even sure Bloglines would do a comment feed and somehow I’ve created one without even trying. So, I guess the big question is what the rest of you get when you try to get a feed from this blog?
‘Cause if the only thing coming through is a comment feed then I definitely have a bigger problem than I thought.
Aw, thanks, but I didn’t do anything special. It must be a Bloglines thing, then. Glad to hear that it’s all sorted now. 🙂 Now let’s hope you’re settling in well here at your new home. 😀
Thanks for checking, Maili. I’ll try A) first because yesterday even the atom feed was getting a comment only feed for me.
Okay, that was truly weird. At first Bloglines looked like it was going to do the exact same thing it was doing yesterday. Even the tagline showing was the old one. Then when I checked to subscribe, the list of feeds completely reset itself and they’re correct now without me having to edit anything.
Of course, now I’m left wondering where in the world the comment feed went . . . ? Or what the heck was going on in the first place. But I’m not complaining.
Thanks. I knew you could do it, Maili. 😀
Hm. Weird. I added your blog URL to Bloglines and it came up with this:
https://bevsbooks.com [https://bevsbooks.com/index.php/feed/]
The URL in the square brackets is obviously for comments only. I don’t know why nor do I have the answer. Only two immediate temporary solution are
a) remove /feed/ in EDIT *after* adding it to bloglines
b) select this: https://bevsbooks.com [https://bevsbooks.com/index.php/feed/atom/]
B) works for me. It seems that there is a bit of cock-up with the RSS set up rendered by this template. Worth emailing who[m]ever created this template?
Sorry that I’m not much of help here. 🙁
