Although I do love that movie more than any of the other Godzilla movies I’ve seen. So sue me, I’m not a purist. ;p Anyway, there’s this article in the news yesterday about a komodo dragon fertilizing her own eggs. Well, I found it fascinating. Apparently, it’s not all that unusual for reptiles. Who knew? (Not me for sure.)
Talk about removing the romance from things though!
I remember one character in Jurassic Park talking about frogs giving birth in an ostensibly all female environment, so I’ve been exposed to this idea before. But truly, I had problems with the science of JP generally, so I just assumed that story was another piece of bs.
