I just cleaned out my TBR basket because it was beginning to take over my bedroom. I was amazed to discover that one reason the books seemed to be multiplying out of control were five books I’d started then tossed back into the basket to read later. And still don’t want to read. Maybe I usually clean out the basket more often but I’ve never noticed that many false starts there before. So, I thought I’d share the list before I shelved them to see if anyone else had read them. They are, in alpha order:

Brallier, Kate: Seal Island – I probably got the farthest in this one before deciding I just wasn’t in the mood for a first person romantic suspense.

Hodge, Colby: Stargazer – I really have mixed feelings about this one. I’m not sure whether it’s that it reminds me a little too much of Star Wars or what but I got about three or four chapters in to it and suddenly had a medieval craving . . . ???

Jackson, Melanie: Divine Fire – I think I actually gave this one about three tries before giving up. There is just something about that wasn’t drawing me in. At all.

Nance, Kathleen: Jigsaw – This one I believe I just wasn’t in a modern Gothic mood. Period.

Sands, Lynsay: The Chase – Okay, to be fair on this one, I think I read the prologue, realized it was connected to The Key and decided to wait until I was more in the mood to pull it out too.

  1. Yeah, I know the feeling. I guess this is where reading truly becomes a collecting obssession, er, hobby. (VBEG)

  2. I have so many like that too. I’ll start them and for one reason or another, go on to something else. Yet I can’t give them away, just on the off chance that someday, maybe sometime I just might want to read that particular book and I won’t be able to find it if I give it away. And this has happened 🙁
