I know this because I am one. My son knows this because he is a male who has dealt with two female fans, me and his sister. I was going to post about this yesterday but for some reason my Internet connection was the absolute pits. I have a satellite connection and sometimes even when the connection says it’s okay, it just isn’t. Or maybe it was the Internet in general that was off. For years now, I’ve used Readerware as my database for cataloging my books. I love Readerware even though there are probably better programs out there. It’s simply reliable, proven and easy to use. Recently, though, I’ve wanted to find an online database that I could use with the blog and finally settled on Goodreads. I’ve used LibraryThing in the past and never truly liked it. Well, I say troubles, but the reader is working fine. What happened is that when I had to reformat my computer awhile back and therefore had to reinstall software, seems the eBookwise Librarian (their conversion software for non-eBookwise formatted books) isn’t communicating with the reader. Which is weird, since the Librarian software seems to be working fine too. As far as I know, I have the proper driver installed or I wouldn’t be able to access books from the eBookwise site itself. I have those glasses that darken with the sunlight. When I went outside the other day to get the mail and came back inside, they took forever to change back to regular after all that reflection off the snow. And the sun wasn’t even shining that day! I’m currently having a slight technical problem. My personal computer is fine but it’s not talking to the rest of the wide, wide world, meaning it needs a new ethernet card, and I probably won’t be able to get a new one until the middle of the week when the weather clears up a little around here.
