When I decided to restart blogging on this site, I knew it would be a struggle at times due to other commitments as well as some minor health issues. Still I mentally set a goal to post regularly at least 2-4 times a week and worked out a plan to make it happen. Of course I knew that I might not reach that goal at all some weeks.
To be honest, I’m in fairly good health for my age but I do have some issues that I have to deal with periodically. One of those cropped up a couple of weeks ago when I started having what I thought were unconnected and to me odd symptoms. Come to find out my potassium had taken a nosedive. I’m starting to get back to normal but am not quite there yet.
Hopefully I can resume my regular posting routine this week but in the meantime I thought I’d mention a few things I’m working on in the background. They are in no particular order:
- a series of posts on the concept of soul mates both in and out of books – I have an outline & now I’m doing research
- a top ten(ish) list of my all time favorite romances – a complete exercise in frustration that may never get done but I am adding & removing things to the list all the time o.O
- in-depth commentaries on a few of those all-time favorites
- at least one favorite author spotlight that’s not just a list
- a list of my favorite cozy mystery TV detective series – I suddently realized just how many of them I actually watch so how could I not do a list?
- charting ratings for Stargate SG1 episodes leading hopefully to a favorite episodes list
I started on that last one while I was under-the-weather last week and it’s actually helping me refine my personal rating system (more on that later) so this could get interesting as I try to apply said system to things other than tv episodes. Figuring out how I rate things has been on my mind lately as I try to figure out what my favorite books are. I know generally which one should be on it but sometimes I just wish there was another way to figure out which ones should count.
