My son has been raving about Minecraft Java Edition (on the computer) lately. So I wanted to check it out. Now I’ve played a version of Minecraft in the past on the WiiU, I think. It was good but it wasn’t necessarily something I’d want to spend hours on. Which is what Minecraft is known for. Namely, getting people hooked on simply being immersed in the experience. Not that they simply spend hours either but we’re talking in terms of years here.
Seriously, this game is worldbuilding at it’s most basic.
Anyway, he got me set up and I tried Java Edition out. I’m still processing the experience. It’s like the same game and a completely different one at the same time. I haven’t played enough – yet – to actually be able to describe what I mean so I decided to do some research. I first looked at some review posts but most of them are years old and not even talking about the Java Edition. Nix that. So I reverted to looking at videos. Partly to find something to post here but also simply to learn more about what I’m doing. Minecraft is most definitely a game you have to put some time into researching and learning. Which is not a bad thing either.
These are the videos that jumped out at me:
Now I’m off to build something. ;-p
