Because there are two TV series I have to watch releasing seasons then. Well, around then anyway. First up is the new Asoka series which starts on August 23. To be honest, I’m kind of iffy on this one. Sure, I’m curious but I was never that big a fan of The Clone Wars so… we’ll just have to see. Yes, Star Wars was originally released on May 25, 1977. Notice I did not say Star Wars: A New Hope because that was not what it was called then. Anyway, my children and I were talking recently about what made Star Wars such a cultural phenomenon. Looking back it’s really difficult to explain exactly what it was like when the first movie came out. That has less to do with the world at time than it does with the movie itself, I think. And by “readers” I’m talking about people who read for pleasure. I’m asking because when I was in the hospital earlier this year there was this young nurses aide who came in while I had one of the Harry Potter movies on the TV. And surviving staying at home.  Well, mostly. Between recurring gallbladder symptoms and computer problems, I haven’t gotten a lot of writing done for the site. So, I’m falling back to an old standby and doing quick links. Some of them will be shared from apps on my phone so they will be very bare bones.
