(originally posted July 23, 2019) I just finished reading the last book in Dana Marie Bell’s Maggie’s Grove series, Hour of the Wolf and wow. Just wow. I’m not talking about just the last book. I’m talking about the entire series as a whole. The Bridal Jitters novella introduces Jayne Castle’s world of Harmony but that world truly begins to take shape in the two book story of Lydia Smith & Emmett London called After Dark and After Glow. While writing this post I have gone back and forth on whether to talk about these two books separately or together. Together won because I can’t seem to talk about one without mentioning the other, apparently. I was under the weather earlier this week and between that and life I really haven’t had a chance to write much. I have a couple of longer posts in the works but they’re just not ready. However, today I got distracted by a brand new ebook, The Blacksmith Queen by G.A. Aiken AKA Shelly Laurenston. It’s the just released first book in a new series, I think related to her Dragon Kin series cause she mentions a far away crazy Queen. Heh, wonder who that could be. I still read a lot of print but in the last few years, suspiciously after getting a smart phone, I’ve started listening to podcasts, dramatizations and audio books. The odd thing to me is that what I like to listen to is in many ways completely different than what I like to read.  For instance, I like to “read” romances. If I’m reading a romance e-book on my phone I will sometimes turn on the audio but still catch myself reading ahead of the audio, which is just downright annoying.  And I just can’t listen to love scenes.
