I’ve been in a really big reading mood this week. I’ve already reread several of Shelly Laurenston’s Pride books. It’s my absolute favorite comfort food romance series right now. And I read it over and over again. Sometimes multiple times a year. Here’s the thing, though. Because I want to focus more on the older books in my collection here on the site plus play around with some other collectible not-necessarily book stuff, I’ve decided to use Goodreads to keep track of what I’m currently reading on a day-to-day basis.  Yeah, I know, it sounds counter-intuitive but, trust me, it’s not. For years now, I’ve used Readerware as my database for cataloging my books. I love Readerware even though there are probably better programs out there. It’s simply reliable, proven and easy to use. Recently, though, I’ve wanted to find an online database that I could use with the blog and finally settled on Goodreads. I’ve used LibraryThing in the past and never truly liked it. For some reason, Shelfari never impressed me past the “checking it out” stage. Well, I say troubles, but the reader is working fine. What happened is that when I had to reformat my computer awhile back and therefore had to reinstall software, seems the eBookwise Librarian (their conversion software for non-eBookwise formatted books) isn’t communicating with the reader. Which is weird, since the Librarian software seems to be working fine too. As far as I know, I have the proper driver installed or I wouldn’t be able to access books from the eBookwise site itself. A recent discussion over on The Galaxay Express about how to promote science fiction romances to new-to-them readers has renewed my passion as an advocate for people using tags to help describe books to readers and also reminded me of a little experiment I did back in the spring on a book from my top favorites list.
