I’ve been in a truly bizarre reading mood for the last week. I’d actually revisited several old favorites before I realized what I was doing, too. In each case, I picked a pivotal scene about midway through the book, reread/skimmed to the end of the book, then started over at the beginning and continued until I reached the scene again. This isn’t a momentary aberation either because we’re talking about about around a dozen books just in the last week. I’d tell you which books but I think I’ve lost track. ;p
I have no idea why I’m doing it, either. Anyone else ever done this?
Oh, and I did manage to pick up a couple of new books at the store yesterday.
- A Fare To Remember anthology with stories by Vicki Lewis Thompson, Julie Elizabeth Leto and Kate Hoffman – I bought this one primarily for the Thompson story because I usually love hers.  Â
- Captive Moon by C.T. Adams & Cathy Clamp – another Tor Romance that I hadn’t heard anything about but that sounded really good. Okay, and the cover really caught my eye, too. Anyone read it?
Dear Bev:
Being in the industry, I’ve heard of this happening before…it’s not uncommon. I’m sure that you’ll be back to your “former” reading self in no time.
I wish you well!
Sonya Kate
Maybe you are in a reader’s block. I went through one of those not too long ago. I couldn’t even get into my favorite books. It sucks! Hope you get inspired to read soon. (^_^)
I do this, or reach a point where I’m not loving the book skim the rest and then go back read what I skimmed. Can’t explain why.
Hmm, there is supposed to be an image of the cover of Captive Moon at the end of the post but apparently it didn’t work. I’m not sure why Amazon Associates text links work on this blog but ones with pictures don’t.
