Okay, Alien Romances is fast becoming my new favorite group author blog due to the rather off-beat nature of their posts most of the time. Sometimes they’re a little long and, erm, technical for my tastes but I just ignore those. So that’s okay, too. Rowena Cherry’s post yesterday was just such a . . . . well, I’ll let you go amuse yourself, children. 😀
I don’t think I’ve ever read one of her books but I just may have to check one out if that’s a sample of her sense of humor. Hehehe.
Um, Bev? With this post and the godzilla one, I have to ask? Have a thing about reptiles these days?
Just wondering, Suisan
I loved FORCED MATE but then I’m a Monty Python and Bennie Hill fan. You have to understand Rowena is a Brit and she has that delightfully sick sense of British humor (or humour). I also read the NBI version (small press trade paper and ebook) and NOT the sanitized Dorchester version. I’ve heard the NBI one is the winner.

I’ve only read one Cherry book (Forced Mate) and was not impressed. The humor just didn’t work for me. IIRC, there were a lot of people who didn’t care for it and posted so on one of the AAR boards, causing a minor kerfluffle at the time.
Having said that, I understand (in retrospect) that it was written very tongue in cheek and very much with the same sense of humor as her post on the Alien Romances blog.
I suppose I should mention that earlier this month, when running through a list of books coming soon, I mentioned that I would not be reading Cherry’s next release because I thought the first was not good…although I put it a little more bluntly than that. Ms. Cherry commented quite graciously that it wasn’t to everyone’s taste, being so reliant on humor. A couple of her fans were less gracious. It was almost enough to make me consider looking for a copy of her new book.
