Just watched the new Pride & Prejudice movie with Keira Knightly in it and really enjoyed it. As in more than I’ve enjoyed the other video versions and I believe I’ve seen them all. Don’t have a list to check but pretty sure about that.

Knightly was impressive but I thought the man playing Darcy did an absolutely fabulous job of conveying the character’s natural reserve and shyness that leads people to believe he’s much more uptight than he really is.

Her family was a little annoying at times, but that didn’t bother me since I knew they were supposed to be. I actually think that both his and their portrayals put a lot of the story into the proper perspective that many of the other versions seem to miss slightly.

  1. Megan, I’m really going to have to look up what else he’s been in because I was so impressed by his portrayal in the new version.

  2. I loved the 2005 Darcy, too. Still love Colin Firth, but Matthew MadFadyen gives a different, equally compelling spin, I think.
