One of the things I’ve been giving a lot of thought to lately is the fact that so many longtime readers/collectors don’t get a voice on the web and if we don’t talk to them we may lose what they know and remember about the books. Couple that with authors who have disappeared from the scene and there’s a lot of stuff out there that’s going to disappear. So, I’ve been thinking about how to contact people who aren’t necessarily on the web and talk to them.
Then something unreal happened just this weekend. Out of the blue, I got an email from one of the authors on my Ten Nights of Love list. For all I knew, she was dead because she hasn’t been heard from in years. No one I could find had any information about her or her books. And then out of the blue someone close to her emailed and said the author wanted to talk to me because she loved the write-up I’d done on her books.
Jaw drop. As readers, you all know that feeling.
So, now I’m currently working on an up-to-date interview/profile of her.
This after being in major lurk-mode/sabbatical for almost a year now.
Oh, and did I mention hyperventilating?
Oye.
Life is strange. 😀
But, oh, so interesting.
Yeah. I almost didn’t post about it until I was sure things were settled. But then I thought, hey, I’m just a reader and this is a pretty cool reason to start posting again even if it ultimately falls through.
And if it does, I’ll at least give you a hint about who it is. 😉
That’s amazing! Can’t wait for the interview.
Hehe. ;-D
Wow! Now I’m really, really curious! Going back to that series you did only made me MORE curious! Can’t wait for the update 🙂
