I feel like I’ve been asleep for a week. Oh, wait, I think I have. Well, most of it. I’ve had that head cold “thing” that’s been going around. Mark got it around Christmas and then Amy started with the sniffles on New Years Eve right on schedule. I thought it was going to skip over me but I started feeling yucky last Friday night and by Saturday I was barely able to breath. I hate that feeling.
Told both kids and the ex I was going to disown them all for gifting me with it. (Him because they were his kids, you know. Guilt by association. Yeah, he didn’t get it either. ;p) What a way to ruin the holidays. Well, the afterglow anyway.
I’m finally starting to feel better, though. Enough to start thinking about reading. Did a lot of movie watching while laid up in bed but no reading. Just the thought of looking at a book page hurt my nose. Go figure. Whatever. Anyway, I can’t figure out what to read, though. It’s like I’m in the mood for everything and nothing. I checked out both the Ebookwise and Samhain new releases and didn’t even feel a smidgen of interest. So that’s a bust. For the moment.
Then it occurred to me that I have absolutely no idea what’s new out in the paperback arena. What’s the latest rage? Ah, and to keep this from turning into a series-fest, any first book discoveries?
Hi Beverly,
Sorry you’ve been under the weather.
By “first book” I take it you mean a first book by a new author — at least this is one of those I discovered recently Gianna by Peggy Somers. It is well-written, has a good story full of love, steamy sex, relationships and adventure. A great romance read.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Cheers & Get Well Soon,
Linda
What’s new in paperbacks? I have no earthly idea. None at all.
Definitely in a reading slump, that’s fer sure.
