She\'s No Faerie Princess: A Novel of the OthersWhile out running errands today I picked up a new romance that looked interesting – primarily because the cover interested me, okay? ;p – and can’t seem to remember if I’ve heard anything about this author or not. I want to say no but the description of the “world” at least sounds so familiar that I tend to think I have seen a review/discussion somewhere of either this one or a previous book. Only, if so, I can’t remember where or when. Anyone know anything about Christine Warren’s She’s No Faerie Princess?

Somebody must because the cover says USA Today bestselling author. Uh-huh. I don’t know why but I think it depresses me that there’s a bestselling author I’ve never even heard of. Maybe.

Oh, well, I’ll try to look up the author and book tomorrow when I’ve caught up on some rest. In the meantime, it occurs to me to ask if weres are replacing vamps as the paranormal romance hunks of the moment. Yes? No? Maybe so?

  1. I could be wrong, but I think Jordan Summers said that it was good. It’s on my list, but I’ve never read her before.

  2. LOL Maili – just a guess here but wouldn’t that be the date and time that Bev posted?

  3. Off topic: what is that line of numbers beneath each blog post title? I tried to suppress my curiosity but … dammit, it’s driving me nuts. I want to know. 😀 Sorry.

  4. Well, I’ve never heard of her before but I have gone out and reserved this book and the one she wrote before, Wolf at the Door.

I’ll give them a whirl. Thanks for the suggestion/news. I’m always looking to try new authors…hopefully it will be good.
    😉

    Thanks!!

  5. I do think weres are becoming more acceptable. I remember the first time I read about a werewolf as a romance hero and it was by Susan Krinard. It was probably in the 90s and it definitely hit me funny. I wasn’t used to the idea of a wolf being a hero and what that would mean to a human and kids? Really? Furry or what?

Now, I’m much more relaxed about it.

  6. I’m so guilty of covering buying. And cover denying, lol. Won’t buy crap covers unless I know the author. I’m such a little sh*t, lol! 😉

  7. A friend of mine has been struggling to get through this for week. I haven’t read it. That’s all the input I can offer.

  8. She wrote for EC before she hit NY. She’s had one NY release before this and I liked it, though if I recall I thought the end was a bit rushed. But it was fun. I haven’t picked this one up, yet, though I probably will eventually. I think this book is set in the same world as the first, which was in the same world as her EC books.
