I’ve been literally buried in family matters and errands this week but did get a chance for a very quick used book store (UBS) raid on Tuesday that I had to share. The short version is that an appointment I had was moved back an hour and a half so I took care of a few errands and still had some time to kill. So I grabbed a hazelnut latte at a little local coffee shop and headed over to the local UBS, thinking that would be a nice “me time” way to spend the rest of the hour. Much to my surprise, though, I breezed into the store and in less than five minutes picked up 8 titles – one of which I’d been hunting for years now. I don’t think I’ve ever gone into a bookstore of any type and come out with that many books that quickly in my life. I also pretty sure my own children wouldn’t believe me if I told them this.
But it happened. Honest.
Oh, yeah, and the booty from my raid is:
- Feehan, Christine: Dark Secret (0515138851) How I’ve missed picking this one up new, I have no idea. I sure don’t remember seeing it and passing it over anywhere.
- Foster, Lori: Unexpected (075820549x) I’m slowly collecting this author’s backlist. Nuff said.
- Kenner, Julie: The Cat’s Fancy (0505523973) This is the one I literally pounced on because I’ve wanted it for years. It’s a sort of prequel to her Aphrodite/Protector spin-offs.
- Lawrence, Ann: Virtual Warrior (0505524929) If I’m right, this one and the next are connected to one I already have and didn’t realize had spin-off/sequels.
- Lawrence, Ann: Virtual Heaven (0505523078)
- MacAlister, Katie: Fire Me Up (0451214943) Another first person, sigh, and a same character sequel, too, I believe, that I don’t have the original book for. That can be easily remedied, however.
- MacKenzie, Sally: The Naked Duke (0821778315) I have no idea why I got this one actually, except that the title had imprinted itself on my brain for some strange reason. Wonder why?
- Mulvany, Catherine: Run No More (0743493834) I’ve read a couple of series books by this author and really enjoyed her writing so I sort of pounced on this one because I had no idea she’d written a single title.
Well, that’s the list. Not bad for five minutes “work”.
Oh, shut up and allow me my delusions. (G)
