Well, it was either that or my eyes popping out of my head. 😉
Vintage Tupperware — Lock in Freshness with Retro Flair
Tupperware (r) is an American institution, both because it epitomizes the promise of “plastics” and because the company created the Tupperware Party.
At Tupperware parties, the “Tupperware Ladies” (remember the song?) demonstrated the latest and greatest new bowls, kitchen tools and even toys (like the Zoo-It-Yourself toy pictured.)
Guaranteed to last forever and ever without chipping, cracking, peeling or breaking, vintage and new Tupperware is still in use in kitchens across America.

It’s not so much the concept of people collecting Tupperware as that it’s considered vintage that gets me… although I something that’s been around since 1949 qualifies. it just boggles the mind.
What gets me is that this whole thing started because my daughter and I unearthed some old Tupperware dessert “dishes” that used to belong to my parents and had been in storage since we moved them several years ago. A set of sundae and parfait cups with detachable bases that I remember having lots of desserts in over the years as a child. The things are as good as new and we used them for some pudding concoctions. But then we got curious about whether they were dishwasher safe or not. Uh, major reality check moment. Truly, it does boggle the mind. 😉
