Oh, get your minds out of the gutter. I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about story length. Yeah, I know, got you all excited and then ruined it, didn’t I? Well, deal with it and move on. ;p
Anyway, the thing is, I was looking for some new ebooks on the Ebookwise site, I found myself getting irritated at having to wade through the “print” published books that I can already find on the store shelves in search of the shorter ones from the electronic publishers I was looking for in the first place. So irritated that I ended up having to go directly to the publishers sites to find the books I was looking for instead of continuing to search there. Not a big problem but it annoying me anyway.
Yeah, I know many of the epublishers are now printing their books too but for the most part their books are still shorter on average. There are also all kinds of side issues buried in this from the need for pricing scales related to the sizes of the published stories to the irritation I feel at having some books in a series in paperback and some in electronic form. I don’t know how any of those issues are going to be resolved in the future to my satisfaction. All I do know is that in the explosion of ebooks and epublishers I’ve found a way to regularly feed my love of shorter stories and I like it.
A lot.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
And all those “paperbacks” are in my way. Grrr.
