Which probably isn’t wise but something Sybil asked started it so blame her. Anyway, I was thinking back and it suddenly occured to me that out of the dozen or so years I’ve been online, I’ve probably taken the time to read about three author interviews.
In the light of other things I’ve said maybe that’s not surprising but I’m even talking interviews with authors I like to read. A lot. What’s strange is that if I know there’s actually some information there about the book, I can be bothered to dig it out, but I’m not going to just read the interview, top to bottom.
It really is all about the books for me.
Maybe even more than I realized.
When you publish, Bam, just don’t tell me your hero was inspired by Mr. Soul Wanna Be with the Faux Pubic Hair (sorry for the lang., I just think wrong things when I see him. Even now, even after he’s cut his hair), and we’ll be okay.
I’m thinking that I am also more about the books than the author themselves. All I needed to hear was how Ward’s stories come to her already done for my jealous mind to go, why not me!? I could use the money. I only go to two author blogs – Megan’s and Meljean’s but I think it’s because both of them are personable and funny.
Even so, if it’s an interview of Anne Stuart then I’m usually there but I’m usually just hoping to find out how many books she has coming out in the next year.

… I guess now’s not the time to announce that “How am I supposed to live without you” by Michael Bolton is one of my guilty faves.
I can totally understand that–I like knowing about the creative process, but what if the author has a goofy hairstyle I don’t like? Or her favorite artist of all time is Michael Bolton? That colors the reading experience for me.
Me? I am sweetness and light damn it! Don’t blame me.
Unless it is good, then I did it.
