I have so many odds and ends to mention, so I think I’m just toss them in together. 😀

I saw the neurologist yesterday and we had a good visit, although I’m a little bummed over his “plan” of treatment. Basically, he wants me to stop taking all painkillers so that he can start me on a prevenitive medication for the migraines and so we can actually see how much it’s helping. Simple, no? Yeah, right. I mean I understand why I need to do it but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy to do. He suspects, and, to be honest, so do I which is why I wanted to go see him to begin with, that a lot of my headaches are rebound ones from the pain meds, making the actual migraines difficult to track. I’m giving myself over the weekend to plan my strategy before make a true attempt to cut back, though. Mental preparation if nothing else. That and the fact that naturally I woke up this morning with a doozy of a headache that’s taken me most of the morning to get clear of. Yeah, this is going to be fun. Anyway, if I’m missing more than I’m “seen” for the next week, you’ll know I’m hiding under my pillow. ;p

All of which means that I’m behind on responding to comments again but hopefully I can find time tomorrow for those.

The Sinful Nights of a Nobleman: A NovelOkay, what else? Oh, yeah, I actually read a new book Wednesday – Jillian Hunter’s The Sinful Nights of a Nobleman. I enjoyed it. I’ve always loved her humor, not that it’s the main point of this group but still it was a very fun story. The really funny thing was that I immediately went back to reread the first book in this group, The Seduction of an English Scoundrel, and can’t figure out if I actually had read it before. I know I have but there was lot I didn’t remember about it for some reason.

And speaking of this group, I searched for her website to see if I’d missed any and couldn’t find one. I noticed an eBookwise link so I looked there for the full list. They have all five so far, but checking them out I finally realized what Jane’s been talking about. As much as I like ebooks, why would I want to pay basically full price on not-quite-favorite authors/groups when I can get them at half-price used? I mean, a true discount of some type would tempt me a lot more. You know?

  1. I’ve been really enjoying Jillian Hunters series so far, although I’ve only read the first three I think. I keep meaning to pick up the rest of them.

  2. I hope it goes well with you. I hate changing meds and the waiting to see what works and what doesn’t. 🙁

    *hugs*

  3. Bev, aren’t docs a blast? I love it when my doc says I need to change meds which means a gradual decrease in one and then a gradual start of another. About a month of free reign anxieyt. Yee haw!

As for headaches, I don’t know how you do it! Much luck and I hope you find a solution with this jaunt into the well known. Ugh.

I only ever read one Jillian Hunter and even though I liked it I didn’t love it. Also, you can lose an e-book when you clean out your drive. I did that and lost the two e-books I had downloaded and hadn’t read. I figured that was the end of my experiment in e-books 😉

    Take care of yourself,
    Cindy
