Must be something in the air because I ran across two posts related to cliffhangers on the same day recently.
First there is this one about the Stargate SG1 writers and the uncertain future of the series in later seasons:
In this case the writers found out about their new home before the season finale was written. But out of respect for Showtime and its subscribers, they opted not to end Season Five on a cliffhanger — like they had done for all four previous years. Stargate SG-1 Had Four Different Endings Written
Then later that same day I found this:
Don’t get me wrong–I love following characters over time but I am not here for having to wait a year to know what happened to them.I F**king Hate Cliffhangers. Do you?
I think overall I tend to avoid cliffhangers. Well, they don’t happen in romance novels very much to begin with. And with streaming nowadays, I usually wait until an entire TV series is complete. Or, at least I wait until another season is added. Problem solved.
Of course the real problem is when another season (or book) isn’t forthcoming. Eek. Yeah, that’s a problem.
