I’m really weird about music. When I’m working, I tend to like to listen to instrumentals so there are no words distracting me. But when I’m in the mood to listen to words I tend to like story songs. Across a lot of genres. If it’s a good story with appropriate music, I’m sold. Ghost Riders in the Sky has always been a favorite of mine. Especially the original as sung by Burl Ives. Perfection. In short, I finished Wheel of Time (WOT) #3: The Dragon Reborn and took a break to listen to the third book in the Haunted Bookshop cozy mystery series by Cleo Coyle (or Alice Kimberly because some editions have that name ??). About Haunted Bookshop series I really, really enjoyed The Ghost and the Dead Man’s Library. I think she’s getting better. That’s not to say the first two weren’t good but the first, The Ghost and Mrs. McClure, was more involved with setting the scene and getting to know the characters. Several weeks ago I talked about starting to listen to Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time books on Audible because of a promise to my son. He is a devoted fan that has author signed hardbacks, collectibles & tee-shirts. Because honestly, I did not know this. Or if I ever did at any point it was buried so far back into my subconscious that it was lost in a memory black hole. But he was related. In the original radio broadcast he was the grandson/grand-nephew of The Lone Ranger because that broadcast was a spin-off of The Lone Ranger radio show. I have recently discovered the joys of listening to podcasts. But I’m picky and it took me awhile to find some podcasts I really, really like. Well, two. The other is a goal I’ve set for myself.
