I just finished my first reread of this series – read it for the first time earlier this year – and I gotta say, while I liked it a lot the first time, it seemed even better on rereading.
Okay, full disclosure here. I’m a major fan of both her Shelly Laurenston and G.A. Aiken books. With her Pride series being my most frequent current reread. As in I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve reread the entire series. My current top favorite book to reread is in fact the last book of that series, Bite Me, that has a honey badger shifter as the heroine. I also love that she decided to continue that universe focusing on honey badgers in the Honey Badger Chronicles.
Having said all that, however, I absolutely love what she did in the Call of Crows trilogy because it hits my trifecta of romance, fantasy and mythology all in one. In a true story arc trilogy. Seriously, wow, I can probably count on one hand the number of times a true story arc trilogies happens in the romance land of unlimited sequels-but I won’t.
Or maybe in another post.
Anyone else read this trilogy? If so, which one was your favorite of the three? I ask because I was trying to figure that out for myself and I honestly can’t say. Or can’t seem to separate them enough to comment on one individually.
