At least I used to think so. Oh, okay, I still think so. I do. I really do. After some further thought, and a hefty dose of real life, I decided that a full-fledged weekly, ahem, guide wasn’t going to cut it for me yet, so I’ve pruned it back to a four day one. Basically, that’s every other day. I can do that. I may not even manage it every single week but I figure I can come close most of the time. But before I get to that, let me update you on what I’ve found out so far from the neurologist about my headaches since that’s what’s lead me to this chair epiphany. I actually don’t back to see him until this Thursday but after the x-rays he did of my neck, he immediately ordered a second MRI – the first was of the brain for the headaches, the second of the neck because I’ve always had neck and shoulder problems. No reason really other than I seem to be gathering up her Highlander group like mad in recent months. And enjoying most of them. We just “upgraded” to satellite broadband as our Internet connection this week. It should save some money in the long run once some of the odd expenses we no longer need because of it are subtracted off the budget. So, anyway, I’ve been spending the last few days getting used to not having time to read a book while browsing the Internet. Just two questions that will help me get some idea what resources to look for. What blogging platform do you use? (i.e Blogger, WordPress, TypePad, LiveJournal, etc.) What’s your biggest blogging headache? I finally realized over the weekend that CindyS’s blog had been somehow dropped off my Blog lines subscriptions list. What really bugs me is that I only realized it when someone else posted about Cindy’s dog being diagnosed with cancer and I was like, what?!? How come I don’t know this? Normally, I’d chalk it up to user error but since I comment regularly on her blog, I don’t see that happening easily. Uh, this isn’t about the ones you go to but the ones writers follow when they craft the stories. Okay, let me back up and say that I spent all day yesterday at the ER with my dad – he’s relatively fine now other than a slight urinary infection – and today getting him settled back into a routine. This may actually be more of a “where is she now?” post but it all started when my daughter asked about one of her books that I had moved from the keeper shelves in my bedroom to the “reserve” shelf in the basement. Anyway, the book in question was Firestorm and I ended up rereading part of it. Not bad. Great virgin hero. One of the things I did as part of my “getting back into the blogging groove” Sunday was activate the Askimet plugin on Bev’s Books as per Jane’s and May’s suggestions. I chose it because it comes preloaded in WordPress but I got to say I’m impressed. Spam isn’t a problem here yet because the blog itself is so new but you wouldn’t believe the amount it’s already catching on my blog. Oye. So, here’s the learning question, does it work for programs like Blogger? Or is there other things that work better for them? Well, it wasn’t so much taking time off for the Thanksgiving holiday as I rather unexpectedly decided to take a “vacation” from both blogging and the Internet. Part of that was getting used to the new meds but I think I just needed the mental break.
