Just a quick post to let you know that I’m currently having some computer problems so I’m probably going to be lurking a little until I can figure out if it’s going to the shop or not. I’m trying to be more diligent about giving heads up for any good discussions I run across and/or join into on the web. Currently reading It doesn’t happen often but occasionally I get in the mood to read a biography or an autobiography. Normally, they’re just not on my non-fiction to look for. I tend more towards arts and crafts with a smattering of self-help type books. Recently, though, I’ve become interested in the story and life of Teddy Roosevelt. Several years ago we went to the Hummingbird Festival/Weekend that falls on or around the last weekend in July at the Land Between the Lakes Nature Station near us in western Kentucky and were so fascinated by the little critters we immediately came back home and got a feeder to hang on our front porch. Between a bad, or rather intermittant, Internet connection as well as life in general this week and the fact that I’m leaving in just a little while for a root canal, I haven’t had a chance to get as many posts together as I would’ve liked. There are few TV series that I feel truly deserve the honor of being collected in their entirety. Stargate SG1 is one of them. Truth to tell, I’ve only recorded two other start to finish in my entire life – Star Trek: The Next Generation and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Somehow it just doesn’t look like a romantic treehouse to me Maybe more like something out of a sci-fi novel. Or a horror movie. Seriously. I can’t figure out if the picture creeps me out or intrigues me to no end but it definitely caught my attention and made me want to read the article about architects who are experimenting with “growing” buidings using trees grown around metals.
