This poster sings to me on so many levels…
One, Superman. Two, I haven’t talked about it much but I’m a Lego game maniac. Three, of course my favorite Lego character is Superman. And, four, they included Lois, Jon & Krypto. I could go on. And on. Seriously, going into overload here.Read More →
Babylon 5
While I was on vacation (hence the lack of posts recently) I found out Babylon 5 was streaming on Amazon Prime now and I immediately started binging on it. As in being on vacation but not traveling so have some time to kill and suddenly the only thing I’m doing besides eating and sleeping is watching this show type binging. You know it’s a lot easier to binge shows that only have 13 episode per season… with Babylon 5 we’re talking at least 20 episodes so it’s taking awhile. Needless to say vacation’s over and I’m still binging when I have the time. So far I’veRead More →
lazy day of listening to Poirot
Quite literally listening to Poirot. Or rather David Suchet as Poirot. And everyone else. I wanted to listen to something on my podcast reader but wasn’t in the mood for anything I already had on it. So I got to digging around and found audiobooks of David Suchet reading the major Poirot novels. (Dig around on the Internet because they seem to be available everywhere.) I started with The Mysterious Affair at Styles because it is the first afterall but there are a lot of other Poirot books to choose from. It took a little while to get into it because he was doing allRead More →
Homes Used In Poirot Episodes – Chimni Wiki
I’ve always wondered about the homes/buildings used in the Poirot series. I ran across this article and literally went “Yes”. While Poirot was set in the 1930s, the designers for the long-running ITV series tried to avoid delivering a kitsche Art-Deco celebration. The producers, led by Brian Eastman were true to spirit of the more important International Moderne. In a recent Guardian article, Eastman said “..the TV set was 30s ‘moderne’, not actually Art Deco, because Agatha Christie had explained in a profile of Poirot that Art Deco was too flamboyant for him”.[1]. That is not to say that the Poirot TV episodes weren’t aRead More →
At least it doesn’t have a hieroglyph curse on it….
Or they aren’t showing them in the picture. A Massive, Black Sarcophagus Has Been Unearthed in Egypt, And Nobody Knows Who’s Inside Should we open it? Source: A Massive, Black Sarcophagus Has Been Unearthed in Egypt, And Nobody Knows Who’s Inside Seriously though that is one menacing looking sarcophagus. (sarcophagi? I can never remember which is the singular and which is the plural) I also think the lack of “decorations” are more unnerving than having them would be. But then again, since it was found in Alexandria, it will probably turn out that some unknown Greek or Roman nobleperson wanted to be buried in theRead More →
Supersons sleepover
Back when everyone was gnashing their teeth over the fiaso of the New 52 in DC Comics, I knew that eventually the “real” Superman and hence my Lois & Clark would come back. What I never imagined they’d have the courage to do was give Lois & Clark a son. From what I can tell, just having Jon Kent in the picture has rejuvenated the Superman stories in ways that no one imagined. See, it’s not simply the addition of their son as the new Superboy, but also the whole dynamic of Lois & Clark as parents. Especially Lois. But also surprisingly what it brings outRead More →
This one literally cracked me up with giggles
Especially since I have a tin that matched Princess Anne’s… From the Duchess of Cambridge to the Queen, royal women seem determined to launch a new fashion trend by dressing to match some very upmarket tea services.
