I saw an article on these several months ago but lost the link so did some digging. Still trying to figure out if they’re real or a trick of photography though. Honestly, either way they are neat to look at. During the summer, if you’re very lucky, you may notice a cloud in the sky that looks just like a rainbow. I have recently discovered the joys of listening to podcasts. But I’m picky and it took me awhile to find some podcasts I really, really like. Well, two. The other is a goal I’ve set for myself. The first is the Adventures of Superman radio serial on Botar’s Old Time Radio. I love listening to this. It’s just so cute. Yes, I said cute. And there is a lot of it to get through. (1444 – 12 minute episodes) One thing though, I knew before I started listening to it that the character of Jimmy Olsen was introduced in this radio serial. I didn’t know thatRead More →

When I was a very little girl, seriously elementary school age, I memorized a poem for class. This is the one I chose. This is also all I remember of it but it left an indelible impression on me. I wish I knew the author so that I can find the rest of it. The cover of a book is like a door That takes me to a place that I’ve not been to before A pirate or a fairy queen may wait inside for me I never know until I turn the page what wonders I shall seeRead More →

In July 2016 the last known company making VHS (Video Home System) video cassette recorders ceased production. At its peak, Japan’s Funai Electric sold 15 million of its Sanyo banded VCRs a year. VHS was huge in the 1980s. It saw off the technologically superior Betamax (players discontinued in 2002; Sony continued making tapes until November 2015) but was outdone by DVD and Blu-ray. I like to rewatch and reread things. I know this. It’s like a craving to revisit favorites at times. Lately I’ve been in the mood to rewatch the tv series Fringe. The problem is that it’s not available on any streaming service that I have access to. At least that I’ve been able to find. You know when I first started watching that series, I wasn’t even sure I was going to like it. But I did and it’s become one of my all time favorites. Didn’t hurt that it has a very strong, if quirky, romance in it.Read More →

I was looking for list(s) of old black and white mystery movies and ran across Greatest Films – The Best Movies in Cinematic History. I could spend days on this site. Except for the time spent actually watching some of them. Seriously, there are more movies listed there than any once person could watch in a lifetime. Unless one was extremely dedicated.Read More →
