I just finished my first reread of this series – read it for the first time earlier this year – and I gotta say, while I liked it a lot the first time, it seemed even better on rereading.  Okay, full disclosure here. I’m a major fan of both her Shelly Laurenston and G.A. Aiken books. With her Pride series being my most frequent current reread. As in I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve reread the entire series. My current top favorite book to reread is in fact the last book of that series, Bite Me, that has a honey badger shifter asRead More →

Seriously, I want to know.  Because I was reading yet another romance-  You know actually this one might not have been a romance. It might very well have been one of a cozy mystery series I’ve been checking out but since I didn’t write the title of the book down when this irritation stuck yet again I don’t know. It could’ve been a romance because it’s something I’ve noticed in them a lot over the years. Like really a lot. The exact pet peeve I’m ranting about?  “tiny” 5’5″ heroines and “large” 6’4″ heroes Now here’s my issue with that description. I’m 5’5″. My sonRead More →

Wings? Why wings?

I noticed recently that Captain America had wings on his costume sometimes. Usually more likely on the WWII era costumes but sometimes on more modern ones. And I was like, wait, what? Because I have no idea why he would. At all. So I did some digging and came up with an article called The Evolution of Captain America’s Uniform about all the different variations he’s worn in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But still since they echo what was in the comics in various eras, it’s a good illustration of what I’m talking about. It’s hard to see but some of them have embossedRead More →

I realized I hadn’t yet done a game list and there was only one to start off with. When I want to relax but not read or watch something, computer or video games are what I turn to. And this particular series is one of my all-time favorites. I say one of because I am also quite fond of Lego games on the Wii but I will get to those in another list. But I’ll just say up front that there’s just something very satisfying about smashing stuff that we won’t go into here. 😉 There are two things I love about this series. One,Read More →

But the process of making them is even more unbelievable. I can’t help thinking mine would come out looking like… not constellations… if I was playing with this dough. Read More →

After diving in head first and posting like mad to test out some features and plugins for the last month or so, I decided it’s time for the real blogging to begin. But first I spent some time today begining to update the About page. It is by no means finished but it’s a start in the right direction. Also just so everyone knows, my plan for now is to post 3 or 4 times a week. Usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the occasional Saturday Superhero post just for fun. Ok, sure, that doesn’t mean I won’t be posting about superheroes the rest ofRead More →
