You know, I could’ve sworn I didn’t have all that many pirates pillaging through my romances but when I checked my Readerware I discovered almost 25. Who’d have thought. This listing also proves what I mean about how eclectic my tastes are because there’s everything from contemporary pirate fantasies to space pirates in it. I may add links later but I wanted to get the list out first.
- Anthology: In Bed With the Wild One / In Bed With the Pirate (Duets, 30) – This is actually a double book as you can see but I have anything with more than one author and story listed as anthology for simplicity sake. If I remember correctly, the pirate element here was that the couples in both stories were visiting a bed & breakfast that had themes to each room and the second couple stayed in the pirate themed one, naturally.
- Chase, Loretta: Lord Perfect – Okay, I know I haven’t read this one yet so I have no idea why it’s coming up on a search for pirate. Anyone want to hazard a guess?
- Davis, Justine: Skypirate – Yep, space pirate. Most definitely. Not a favorite but I liked it. Sort of.
- Fletcher, Donna: Dark Warrior – Hmm, I thought I’d read this one but I have no idea why it would show up on a pirate search. I may have to reread it just to check. ;p
- Foley, Gaelen: Pirate Prince – I remember I wasn’t that crazy about it but can’t remember why. Was there a rather long separation in it?
- Garwood, Julie: The Gift, Guardian Angel & Lion’s Lady – Okay, I’ll grant that both of the first two featured pirates, brother and sister pirates, no less, but I”m less sure why the last one came up on the search unless it’s simply the connection to the other two. And if that’s the case, why didn’t Castles comes up, too, since it’s also connected?
- Grant, Susan: Star Prince – Another space pirate. Not sure but I believe this is one my daughter keeps nagging me to read.
- Hunter, Jillian: Delight – Absolutely adorable comedy of errors when a band of pirates attempt to help their captain return to being an aristocrat and find a bride. Well, actually finding him a bride is the easy part. Keeping her gets a little complicated.
- Krentz, Jayne Ann: The Pirate – If I remember correctly this is about one of Krentz’s writer heroines researching an old pirate story on a island and finding her own modern day pirate to love.
- MacAlister, Katie: Blow Me Down – Is this the one about the reinactment society or the one about the virtual reality game? Haven’t read it, but I’m pretty sure it’s one of those “pretending” to be a pirate adventures.
- MacGregor, Kinley: Master of Seduction & Pirate of Her Own – Don’t believe I’ve actually read the first one, but the second is a sort of enjoyable pirate caper with a nosy reporter heroine trying to get the story of a famous pirate with predictable results. And some not so predictable.
- Quick, Amanda: Deception & Reckless – One has hero from a long line of pirates and the other has a reformed pirate seeking revenge. Ah, maybe not so reformed but very typical if enjoyable Quick/Krentz.
- Reeves-Stephen, Judith: Prime Directive (Star Trek) – Well, how did this one get in there? I shall have to do some double-checking.
- Sands, Lynsay: Lady Pirate – Very cute sort of ugly duckling comedy of errors with her pirate crew “going aginst her wishes” to match her up with a very proper Earl or some other such aristrocrat.
- Sinclair, Linnea (Megan Sydil Baker): Gabriel’s Ghost – Sigh. Space pirate. Sigh. No really, I love this one so much you really don’t want to get me started here. 😀
- Sizemore, Susan: On a Long Ago Night – I remember this one because I didn’t like it. It was more a reunion story than pirate adventure but the most annoying thing was all the flashbacks. Overkill.
Well, that was fun, but I suddenly feel some rereads coming on. ;p
Yeah, Kristie, I saw you or someone mentioned that but was too intimidated to try it. But wasn’t there another one of those earlier in the year too?
LOL – I was inspired by ‘Talk like a Pirate’ day. It was actually much harder than talking normally.
Kristie, honey, what ya been drinking to manage to type all that pirate-speak? 😀 It does make one want to start a rereading binge, doesn’t it?
Marg: Ashley is familiar but I’m not sure I’ve ever read one of hers. I’ll have to check.
I didn’t like the first Kinley MacGregor but I did like the second one. The other pirate books I have read and enjoyed are by Jennifer Ashley!
Arrrgggh matey. Ye reminded me of some more of those saucy books I read. A’course how could I be forgettin’ the pirate books of Julie Garwood. Though Garwood is a tetchy wench for me to read right now. And I have those 2 books by Kinley MacGregor but I ain’t read ’em yet. They’re still sitting there with the rest of me booty waitin for me to read. And o’course I be forgettin to mention that Quick wench you mentioned. I read her books and they bin pretty good too.
