The other day I took an entire late afternoon and evening to myself to indulge in some movies just out on streaming. It was very enjoyable because they were completely different.
Enola Holmes 2
To be honest, I thought this sequel on Netflix was a lot better than the first Enola Holmes movie. Not sure if this one was based on one of the books but I got the feeling they took a lot of liberties because it felt completely different from the first. For one thing, Sherlock was in this one a lot more and it balanced out the story they were telling. Whatever they did, it works very well because while I liked the first movie, it seemed to drag a bit at times. This one kept me engaged from start to finish and I really enjoyed it.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story
I’m not even totally sure why I watched this one. Maybe for a complete change of pace. Or maybe because Roku had been throwing promos at me for the last few weeks and I saw that it starred Daniel Radcliff. So my curiosity got the better of me. Knowing it was about Al Yankovic and that he wrote it, though, I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was literally hilarious in an almost deadpan satirical way. Radcliff was phenomenal. Honestly, I think that’s what shocked me the most. He owned that role to the point I forgot it was him.
