I hate season finales on television. Not series finales where they wrap up the whole thing, although those can be seriously hit-and-miss in terms of satisfaction level.
Season finales, though, year-to-year, are almost torture for me nowadays. I have a strong suspicion it has to do with the obsession with cliffhangers endings for season endings, in particular in broadcast American TV, and I never really noticed this until I started watching stuff like Doctor Who on BBCA which doesn’t end in cliffhangers each year. But there’s two of my favorites this year that I can’t yet bring myself to watch the season finales on because I just know they’re going to be cliffhangers – Hawaii Five-O and Castle.
And it’s annoying to no end.
Will I give up on either of them? Probably not. At least not right away. But I am seriously ticked with the writers and producers at the moment. I do not liked being yanked around and belting left hanging all summer.
You know, there comes a time when one realizes that maybe, just maybe, one has been watching, or even reading, certain types of stuff for way too long… because putting up with this crap is no longer fun. Dare I say, predictable even?
Hehehe. Which is where the real problem comes in, I think.
Okay, enough of the venting. 😉
