For years now, I’ve used Readerware as my database for cataloging my books. I love Readerware even though there are probably better programs out there. It’s simply reliable, proven and easy to use.
Recently, though, I’ve wanted to find an online database that I could use with the blog and finally settled on Goodreads. I’ve used LibraryThing in the past and never truly liked it. For some reason, Shelfari never impressed me past the “checking it out” stage. But Goodreads is a program I find myself actively liking to use, which is always a plus. 😉 I’ll probably add books both sporatically in groups and as I read them individually, hopefully with comments either there or on the blog here, the overall goal being to synchronize what’s there with what’s in my Readerware files, which isn’t as difficult as it sounds and one of the reasons I prefer using Goodreads. So, anyway, I’ve added a sidebar link to my personal shelf on Goodreads to the blog here. (My id there is BevBB for anyone else using Goodreads.) Check it out if you get a chance.
Oh, and just out of curiosity, what if any online book database do the rest of you prefer? And why?
