I like the new theme. A lot. Not least of which because it let’s me keep my sidebar widgets. But did something truly weird to the YouTube embed I did a couple of posts back. Help, Jane. (Did that sound pathetic enough? ‘Cause I can do much better, er worse if need be. ;p) Are the rest of you seeing it or not when you view that post? I’m not even getting a link to the YouTube video.

EDITED: I fixed it myself by going back to make sure 1) the video still existed on YouTube and 2) the embed code was still correct. The code wasn’t correct. In fact, it looked like it was missing a whole bunch of stuff. Why that happened I still don’t know. Would a change in theme do that? :puzzled?

I’ve just been trying to get over this bronchitis, which I seem to slowly be doing. I had a pulmonary specialist try to tell me I actually had asthma, which threw me for a loop but my new regular doctor who I already know pretty well isn’t convinced yet. She thinks I just have a pretty bad case of viral asthmatic bronchitis on top of just being downright worn out/stressed out and wants to wait and see what develops once I finally get over it. Then we’ll see. Plus, she agreed with my own personal prescription of “I need a vacation from my life.” Badly. So, I’m trying to work out a long, long weekend away from everything and everyone in the next week or so.

  1. I immediately thought of that, Jane ;), because I hate writing posts the other way but when I first noticed the problem I turned it off again. The embed was still messed up and that’s when I had the idea of checking the code on YouTube itself.

The weird thing is that I distinctly remember switching back and forth on the editor a couple of times while in the other WordPress theme to make sure the embed would still work and it did. I do think messing it up this time had something to do with changing themes. I just don’t know what.

  2. Is your rich text editor clicked off in “options”?

  3. I was and they helped a lot. It’s just one of those things that takes about six weeks to get over regardless. And it’s in not the lungs, slightly higher, thank goodness for small favors.

  4. Bev, you need to look after your lungs babe! Are you on anti-biotics? Take some time for yourself soon!
