How… odd

How… odd

I decided I would make a list of all the Valentine romances that I have to share for today’s post. Only thing is that when I dug around my shelves, my book database, my e-book files and, well, just about anywhere I could think of I came up with only one Harlequin paperback and 2 e-books that even just mention Valentine’s Day much less have that as a theme. (And the two e-books are basically … Read entire article »

Ten Nights of Love: Shelly Laurenston

For most of the previous entries in this Ten Nights of Love series, I automatically knew who the various authors were going to be and all I had to do was make sure I arranged them in chronological order to tell the story. For this last post, though, I knew what the content was supposed to be about but had three author under consideration and three different reasons for selecting them, which for some odd reason totally and completely confused me, but more on that in a moment.   You see, a couple of years ago, I actively started dipping my toe, heck, my entire foot, into the so-called erotic romance sub-genre. I call it “so-called” because I’m still not entirely convinced that all the books with that tag are labeled … Read entire article »

Dragon Storm alert

I am a fan of romances. I am rarely a fan of individual authors. On occasion, though, I do fixate on a few that I follow, um, religiously, shall we say, at least in terms of knowing when their new books in certain series or themes are coming out. My fan spidey sense says one of my current favored ones, Bianca D’Arc, has a new one coming out today in her Dragon Knights group called Dragon Storm. Make of that information what you will. Related Posts:How… oddThree books and a giggleHappy Valentine’s DayExcitedThe Holidays, bah, humbug … Read entire article »

There be dragons here

Recently while looking for something to read that had dragons in it, I was digging through my ebook shelves and realized that I’d collected quite a few favorite dragon shifter stories. How that came to be, I’m not quite sure since dogs and cats are what usually pass for the norm in shifters. Anyway, I thought I’d share my list of top author & series that I tend to reread the most. And, yeah, quite a few of them are labeled erotic romances, but not all. D’Arc, Bianca – Dragon Knights Maiden Flight (erotic romance) Border Lair (erotic romance) Ice Dragon (romance) Prince of Spies (erotic romance) Wings of Change (erotic romance) Fire Drake (erotic romance) Dragon Storm (erotic romance) due out Nov 17, 2009 Aiken, G. A. – Dragon Kin Dragon Actually (romance/paranormal) About A Dragon (romance/paranormal) Mumford, Debbie Sorchas’ Heart … Read entire article »

Three books and a giggle

I’m trying to be more diligent about giving heads up for any good discussions I run across and/or join into on the web. Most of the time, I figure new book finds can wait until Friday but what’s the point of waiting to tell you about the posts I’m already commenting on? That makes no sense. And sometimes those are about books. It’s a confusing conundrum so the confusion stops here. (At least for me. You could very well still be scratching you head. ) Anyway, just to catch you up, here’s what I’ve been up to lately. Book 1: Heather over @ The Galaxy Express posted the Cover for Katie MacAlister’s STEAMED and, oh, my word, it’s a doozy. The book sounds interesting too. A steampunk romance. I can’t … Read entire article »

The ones I reach for all the time

I was thinking the other day that I hadn’t updated my list of top favorite romances in quite a while. At least not since before I started reading more ebooks than print anyways. So, it was probably time to take a look and see what was what. This is the “Top Ten” list I finally settled on, in alpha order for now because I haven’t figured out any particular ranking for them. Yet. D’Arc, Bianca: The Ice Dragon Fletcher, Donna: Tame My Wild Touch Foster, Lori: Too Much Temptation Greene, Tilly: Zandia Krentz, Jayne Ann: Shield’s Lady Laurens, Stephanie: The Perfect Lover Laurenston, Shelly: Here Kitty, Kitty Leigh, Jenna: The Wolf’s Heart Lovelace, Merline: The Captain’s Woman Mima: Wild Within Quick, Amanda: Dangerous Sinclair, Linnea: Games of Command See, the thing is that I started out trying to go for the top … Read entire article »

I’ve lost a book

Either that or I’ve completely and totally imagined reading it. That last one worries me the most since I really enjoyed it. I think. I would know for sure if I could find it. I’m just having a difficult time believing my imagination was that good. Sigh. I’ve been searching for it for the last two days and coming up dry. I believe it was an ebook but I haven’t found it anywhere in my files, eBookwise or otherwise. I haven’t even found any evidence that I ever bought it from any ebook source. Of course, that would be easier to do if I could actually remember which publisher it was from! What gets me is that I started looking for the book over the weekend because I remembered the story and thought it … Read entire article »

Never say never, maybe

Not sure if this is solid proof of that old maxim or just more evidence of it but since I’ve been dipping my toe into the, shall we say, erotic side of storytelling, I’ve probably run into several stories that made me think I’d never like certain things. No, I’m not listing them here for you. Suffice it to say that one of them, though, was menages and that goes for larger group situations too. So, imagine my surprise when I checked out a set of stories this weekend, starting with the one that didn’t have “that stuff” and then branching out to the rest and found I actually enjoyed the stories. Okay, some of the funny business in at least one of the stories I could’ve done without but for … Read entire article »
